Roberta Louise Sheridan is a visual artist working under the alias, Bertie Louise. Bertie has made her mark in the Perth art scene for her surreal colours and abstract expressionism, representing everyday experiences, nostalgia and familiarity. Primarily a painter who works with acrylics, as of 2017, Bertie dived head first into the brave new world of digital creations. She continues to establish her niche within the community and draws her inspiration from her life and profound experiences. Bertie is available for live painting, murals, digital artwork and private commissions.

Workshops/Programs

‘Bicton Primary School' - October 2021 -Artist in resident, taught 490 students of various ages how to paint a sunset and a galaxy over two weeks.

'House of Hobby' - March 2021 - current. Bertie currently works at House of Hobby helping host and run paint and sip workshops.

‘Kulin School Bathroom Project' - District school of Kulin - 21-23/6/21. Bertie designed and created 16 unique murals with encouraging quotes in them, that her and 7 students hand painted throughout the bathrooms of the district school of Kulin. This program she ran went for three days, the idea behind the concept was to help elevate the mood of the students, making the bathrooms feel more welcoming and nurturing.

'Lets Thursday like we Friday, interactive art sessions' - The Reveley, Elizabeth Key - Each Thursday night of April & May 2018. Bertie was in charge of running and organizing everything involved with putting together an free interactive art session for the public, that ran over two months each Thursday night. This was part of a City of Perth Initiative called 'Lets Thursday like we Friday.’

‘Live Art Monday's’- Henry on eighth, Maylands - 2015- 2017. Artists painted live on stage an artwork of their choice. Every Monday night of the season. They brought family and friends and, most importantly, build followings. Bertie organised the roster for this program and and an exhibition the end of each season in the upstairs gallery.

‘ActBelongCommit SAY Project’- Mosman Park - April 2016. SAY was an opportunity to learn from professional artists how make quality Street Art, using aerosols, plan design and paint. Presented by MosArts and Act-Belong-Commit at the old Memorial Hall in the heart of Mosman Park.

Internship

‘Studio281’ Maylands - March-Dec 2016 Bertie worked alongside by Leo Flavel Owner of Studio281 gallery an framer. Assisted in curating exhibtions and learning how to work in  the art industry.

Installation

'Flowers meet Fashion'- Lakeside Joondalup shopping centre - October 2016. Bertie worked alongside Marina Lommerse and Hayley Curnow creating a Large hanging installation of over 800 hand made flowers from metal mesh frames, helping make the flowers as well as install.
